What makes the people of one city so good-looking and the folks elsewhere…well, not so much? Whatever the reasons, in this year’s America’s Favorite Cities survey, voters told us that good weather and great shopping go hand-in-hand with attractiveness. San Diego and Miami, for example, did well in all three categories, ending up among the top five cities to find America’s most attractive people.

The London Eye, also called Millennium Wheel is a 135m (443 feet) observation wheel, the tallest in the world. This has got to be one of the craziest cars that Rinspeed has ever created, because not only can the sQuba concept car compete on dry land, it can actually drive on water, as well as underwater. Yes, you read that correctly and this apparently is no joke.

The drop-top roadster is made of lightweight materials and can effectively use its wheels as some sort of rudder system, propelling itself across the surface of the water not unlike, well, a boat. To take things even further, the car can dive up to 10 meters underwater for a true scuba experience. Naturally, the driver and passenger will need their own air supply devices.

Better still, the Rinspeed sQuba concept is a zero-emissions vehicle thanks to its full dependence on electric motors. This also eliminates the petrol motor's reliance on air. Crazy.

Tulip Staircase at the Queen's House (England)

The elegant Tulip Stairs in the Queen's House are the first geometric self-supporting spiral stairs in Britain. Although called the 'Tulip Stairs,' it is thought that the stylized flowers in the wrought-iron balustrade are actually fleurs-de-lis, as this was the emblem of the Bourbon family of which Queen Henrietta Maria (wife of Charles I) was a member. The Tulip Stairs are also the location of the Rev R. W. Hardy's famous 'ghost' photograph taken on 19 June 1966, which when developed revealed what appear to be two or three shrouded figures onthe staircase.

Bridge-stair at the Traversinertobel (Switzerland)

The bridge over the Traversinertobel, a side valley of the Via Mala, is the latest structure of this kind designed by engineer Jürg Conzett and his associate Rolf Bachofner . They solved the problem of connecting two different elevations over the gorge by creating a staircase.The staircase replaces a rope bridge for hikers that was wiped out by a rock slide. This suspended footbridge spans a distance of 56 metres, with a difference in height of 22 metres between the two ends.
